Hey, you misinterpreted my response. I side with O'Connor, Rehnquist, Scalia, and Thomas on this issue (which scares the hell out of me because I consider myself an unabashed liberal). I don't believe it is OK for government to seize land in a tax-revenue increasing context.

Although this issue may not have been framed in a Dem v. Rep context, the final Supreme Court vote definitely had a liberal v. conservative slant to it.
