In fact you are wrong sir. The bible is not open for interpretation, as it testifies among other places in the words:

Study to show thyself approved, a workman that needth not be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Furthermore, we told that this task cannot be accomplished without the aid of the Holy Spirit who will lead the willing into all truth.

Finally, the scripture too testifies, that God's words are spiritual and cannot be fully understood by the natural man(mind) because they are spiritually discerned. Refer to the previous.

Just so you know, since you were honest enough to say you're not really up on scripture.
