Funny--that is just what I was going to say.  Forget the guitars, I bet there's a gold mine in songs lying someplace in a drawer on this estate!  :)

On the topic of guitars and how they sound--my brother is in a country band (opening for Junior Brown in a couple of weeks) and has acquired a neat little item.  It's a handmade guitar that was given to him by an elderly fellow who makes them out of old piano soundboards.  I have heard guitars that played like butter and would keep ringing for weeks, but I have never heard a guitar ring this deep.  Majestic instrument.  Hard to play, but the vibrations are worth it.

Wish I could be of help with the value thing.  I'm still shoulder-deep in old china and depression glass and paintings from a favorite uncle's walls.
