What I have seen is that the Maher panels are typically two intelligent and witty individuals, along with one Republiklan.  
Generally it is one witty over the top Liberal and a moderate liberal (not a moderate but a moderate liberal) and generally a watered down ex Democrat that claims he is a Republican
