The song lyrics were written by William Bell, who is old school R n'
B. Co-wrote "Born Under a Bad Sign", with Booker T. I'm
embarrassed to say I never heard his original version of the tune.
First I heard it was on the Byrds "Sweetheart of the Rodeo" album,
where they do a different version of it, more like a slow honky-tonk
sounding tune, with piano and steel guitar.
One day I was noodling on the guitar, had it capoed up around 3rd
fret and was doing a real simple chord progression and started
humming the words. So gave birth to a new tune, with the lyrics of
the original song. Now...I've gotta find the original version he did.
That is pretty lame on my part. Thanks for listening guys. I'll
probably remix it again at some point. It was recorded about 2
years ago. G
