Icon rappin' radio

As far as confusion about Feingold's statement, try to keep in perspective the fact that it came from a newspaper article. I know from personal talks with Russ that a primary concern over mega-channels is that they eliminate the local disc jockey. By having a broadcast done from some basement four states away, the consumers miss out on the opportunity to hear of community issues. He also is concerned about the corporate appeasing censorship of music, which is why we hear the same mindless sappy dribble from coast to coast.

Then Dale proudly thumps his chest and proclaims:

“If I want to know what's going on in any community I'm going to watch the 6:00 news or pick up a newspaper. I ain't gonna listen to a rapper.”

Why would you dismiss radio as a way to get information about what’s going on in a community? Most people spend quite a bit of time commuting, so shouldn’t that be an opportunity for them to get caught up on local news and events? You are going to just flock to your television like the rest of the sheeple and hope they bother to mention that important community meeting or lecture? And does your local newspaper really cover everything? Really??

But then it all comes back to your venom toward hip-hop. Such venom spews forth from you rap haters. Of course you hate it, and of course you never listen to it. But of course you KNOW it's terrible, because one time you heard a snippet. You really can’t get anything out of lyrics like these?

The boogie monster of rap, yeah the man’s back/With a plan to ambush the Bush administration, mush the Senate’s face in and push this generation/of kids to stand and fight for the right to say something you might not like

Or better yet:

Fuck you Ms Cheney! Fuck you Tipper Gore! Fuck you with the freest of speech this divided states of embarrassment will allow me to have.

God bless you Marshall Mathers!
