While I generally accept the death penalty in the US (for heinous premeditated 1st degree murder convictions), I was shocked to hear that Singapore executed a 25 year old man caught at the airport in Singapore with 14 grams of heroin. He was traveling from Cambodia to Australia with a layover in Singapore, I believe. Then I read later that 14 grams of heroin is 26,000 doses. Then I considered all of the parents that have lost children (either through the downward spiral of addiction or to death). The penalty was extreme - curious how others feel?
