Great list. Have to look into the one for the 9 year old.

For the immediates, solar lights.

Son (so far) He wants very much to go to Japan, so a Japanese Language course on DVD.

Teachers: globe, hand puppets, hurricane lights, paper, glue sticks, post-it notes, umbrella
