Great jam tonight. Great music, a wealth of local red wines of every sugar content, ...a warmth of people; friends, family & chance meetings...sharing the comforts and hospitality of the finest of proprietors...in a house far from the relegators and morosites who trample with their pat abacus upon the good earth and humanity. ...From a personal perspective, I spent one hour with a wholly tuned Ovation 12 string in my hands & a late night voice that had just the rare right amount of bottom-end tone...falsetto-on-call...crack and vibrato, ...a lit fireplace to my left as well as a table full of the cadre wealth of heart and guts and generosity, ...the most conducive to open-up-that [original composition] can-o’worms & see if it can fly sort o’ buzz goin’ down, soft lights and acoustics to stand a quarter on and spin it with perfect resonance...& my sweet honest-to-goodness love by my side. The rest of the night I relished in the melodic noise of others and the company and the chatter of friends. An all-round good night out, ...yep.
All that aside:
I have the greatest respect and admiration for those folks who brave the notion of marrying words to music & groove and playin’ it to a room.
Dave...and cats like you, ...here’s to you.
Here’s to all of you who have put lexis to chords & rhythm.
All of you who have...and will...real soon....
Cheers...and many many happy returns. This is no lip-service, ...I could not possibly be more earnest in my passion to share this one feeling before I hit the hay tonight; ...sleep and a wake-up tomorrow to try my hand at stagecraft with the local theatre troop for a play that opens in three weeks. New music played by artists with heart and bravery and verve...saves souls; ...has certainly saved mine. This is an abusive new world being renovated in somebody’s image, ...somebody who is in all probability a stepping stone, the darkness before the dawn I hope, the salt in the wound that may give birth to the music, film, literature & awareness that could perhaps lead the bulk of us & our progeny into a New Renaissance of Great Expectations and Ideas. Whether or not this is to be, ever was to be...or the like, ...we are all in the company of new music, ...if there’s a presence of mind to gravitate towards new music, ...and therefore we are in the lap of hope. & maybe hope is good enough. Cheers.
Cheers....
