Thank you for that incredibly insightful opinion page posting. Prior to reading that I had no idea that murders actually happen, or that the relatives get steaming mad. No, the victims groups in Illinois won't get blood vengeance! The killers will only get life sentences. The families need to move on with their lives, and them thinking that another death is going to make the pain go away is extremely flawed.

The death penalty doesn't deter crime, and it is an imperfect system.  How many innocent people have to be put to death by our government before you think we should do something about it?

But I frighten you? You think state sponsored murder is okey-dokey. Are you glad that the US gets to be on that proud list of countries with capital punishment along with the likes of Iraq, Yemen, Iran, North Korea, and Saudi Arabia? Guess it's just fine that we whack minors and 'tards, too, eh?
