We're talking the people that pay the journalists. I remember doing
a TV pilot, a John Grisham thing... about a lawyer who becomes a
kind of crusader for justice in the ghetto. It was going great guns,
everybody loved it,(the lady that ran Touchstone at the time even
cried at one of the scenes) until they showed it to Mike Eisner, who
was at that time the uber-muckamuck at Disney, which owned the
newtork that financed the pilot. Eisner, according to one of the
show's producers, watched the show and said "I dont want a show
on my network about somebody helping the downtrodden". Just a tie-dyed Commie, that Eisner. He's pretty typical, really.
NBC, for example is owned by GE. Not really a sanctuary for the
American Communist Party. Not by a long shot.Just sayin'.
