I dunno, man. I was at the demo in LA and it seemed pretty peaceable to me. I think youre letting a certain type of web freakiness/paranoia get you unnecessarily riled up.

And re Rome, I think it was more a question of imperial overstretch and internal corruption rather than foreign workers that brought that particular house of cards down.

Personally, I welcome a strong Latino culture to this country. It's a good thing, just like I think the labor movement of the '30's was a good thing, even if the Teamsters are a pain in the ass when youre trying to make a movie.
