Yeah, I'd say that there is a lot of self deception to go around when it comes to each of us supporting our man.
No real argument with you there, Kevin. I would never say that self deception is just for Christians or Right Wingers or people who'd like to see an end to abortion. I mean no offense by the example I gave and that's all it was...not a fact, not a suggestion, not one of my beliefs...just an example to make a point. I'm not going to ever sit here and tell you you're wrong about your abortion feelings. You seem a very decent guy and it's not my place to tell you what's right or wrong...nor do I think it would matter much if I did. I just don't believe (my own belief) that the government has any place telling anyone what to do with their body or unborn fetus or telling doctors what they can or can't do based on their own personal moral compass. If you don't want to be part of an abortion convince your wife, your kids, your friends, those people who ask you for advice in your daily life not to have one...but don't tell a poor welfare mother in Alabama who spent 8 bucks on burgers at McDonalds for her two kids rather than buying a pack of condoms to keep in the drawer by the bed that she has to go through with the accidental pregnancy she just found out about because it doesn't meet with your moral standards. Don't try to tell me she should practice abstinence because that better fits into your world when maybe a few moments of physical contact with another human being makes life better for just an hour. Don't judge another's set of circumstances by your own. That would be all I would say...and you could only classify it as advice...nothing more or less.
