If China is to the east, and the West is....well, to the west, then one could be in India, Nepal, Tibet, Afghanistan, Pakistan, or any number of countries other than Korea.

Now, if we had China to the west and Japan to the east, and the West either much further either east or west, then we'd stand a fair chance of being in Korea.
