The other thing is, if they want to root out fundamentalist fascistic religiosity with aerial bombs and artillery, there is going to be no end to it, ever. Following that route can only end when one side or the other ceases to exist, because every bomb creates more militants. They'd have to follow the prescriptions, first of Hiroshima, and next of Hitler and Pol Pot. And that would be the end of the world. No more Beethoven, no Beatles, no walks on the beach with your kid, just horror, and more unceasing horror. Cause we'd all be in that one, every last human on this poor planet. And not much of it would be left. People need to try to calm the fuck down. The Amazon is entering its second year of drought. The Siberian peat bogs are melting. If this continues for another year or two, global warming will go into hyperspeed. And that's just for starters. We're looking at three huge problems--a catastrophic climate change, a world economy on the verge of collapse, and vast shortages of both energy and water, which will inevitably spark more localized conflicts. The adults of the world need to focus on those problems, together, not on a competing view of whose God is more righteous, ruthless, and indefatigable.
That being said, with affecting eloquence, and likely concurred with by a preponderance of dbis readers, …what number of those who absolutely MUST hear and understand this sentiment do you think even consider it for one moment?
Mournfully, I feel that the most benevolent notions consistently fall upon deafest ears.
In fact, likely those same deaf ears consider you and anyone who speaks with whole & common sense logic to be a defeatist to a far more important ideology. It’s as if we really have passed the point of no return; taking…the fetid slide into this [dogmatic] commercial Grand Goignol…& grabbing every possible gratification (be it selfish or philanthropic) on the long way down. History reveals that Mother Earth & Humankind have always been fodder to the worst elements, with miraculous hints of the best of all things every now & again. For a while there it began to feel like the harbingers of liberty & a New Renaissance of earth & man might go the distance & win on the scorecards over chains & apocalypse as we-the-people trudge the Hill of Megiddo as mere passengers, not players. Lately, as a father to the two most optimistic reasons I have to be hopeful, I’m growing weary of humanity’s ultimate potential. But don’t stop trying, David; …neither will we.

[Tsalagi] Prayer for The White Man
And now, Grandfather, I ask you to bless
the White Man.
He needs your Wisdom, your guidance.
You see, for so long,
he has tried to destroy my people,
and only feels comfortable
when given power.
Bless them, show them
the peace we understand,
teach them humility.
For I fear they will
someday destroy themselves
and their children,
As they have done so Mother Earth.
I plead, I cry.
After all, They are my Brothers.......
