I think you may have misunderstood that key part of my PM.  Every Anime I’ve watched was dubbed in English as well. 

What I was saying, best I can relate in this dubious state, is when I watch subtitled films at home...usually I do it alone...because nobody else here is willing to go that extra yard necessary to watch & read simultaneously.  [Well, m’bride will occasionally…but only when the house is very quiet….]  So it's roughly parallel to how I've figured I must feel about Anime:  There’s something about how Anime "cartoons" ebb & flow that distracts me from their best properties…& I lose focus.  I really can’t explain it.  But now and then, out of respect for the notion,  I try again to get it. 

My son has a long-distance relationship with a [once neighbor] ladyfriend he want to kindergarten with in one of the northernmost SoCal mountain ranges…who texts him dozens of Anime drawings a week to look at.  …She’s fanatical about the art, …in a warm & disarmingly melodramatic way….
