I agree with regard to the fact that the Grammys rarely, if ever, acknowledge quality music. As to your question what Bruce and The Clash have in common, I say a heck of a lot. Both championed the disenfranchised, successfully integrated politics into their music, had a genuine appreciation for the musicians that preceded them, and most importantly, having seen Springsteen 30 times and The Clash 7 times, they easily were the greatest live acts that I ever witnessed. Oh, yeah, and Bruce and Joe Strummer were the coolest guys ever to strap on a Fender.
