His music is available in most fine CD shops, and there is ample web info about him, including interviews etc...

Now there's one piece of music of his that you will find VERY interesting.  It consists/consisted of about 24 minutes of SILENCE, and was actually "performed", complete with manuscript page turning (it IS written..except of course, the bars contain no notes..), and musicians present (though none voicing their instruments) in front of an audience, many years ago...some of whom, were a little "displeased".   Now, is that cool or what?

Based upon his published interviews, he sounds rather friendly, open and engaging, so I will be VERY interested to hear what you think after meeting him.  Please give us some feedback!   Thanks for the post.

P.S. You really need to come visit Baltimore for the High Zero Festival in September.  See my earlier post about this, with links.  Another of the early pioneers of free music improv, and inventor of new instruments, is Harry Partch.  He might interest you.  There is a lot  of web info on him, and there is one active orchestra touring occasionally, which plays his music, on the contraptions he designed.   I think this link might help: http://www.highzero.org
