I would suggest before you start throwing around words such as "ignorant" you do more
research yourself. On page 5 in Alterman's book he writes, "Roughly 72 of the 232 pages of Bias are
devoted to attacks or score-settling with Dan Rather, whom Goldberg believes to have
ruined his career."Now, to me, I would call that amount of space quite substantial. As far as credibility, Alterman's background includes a B.A. in History and Govt from
Cornell, a M.A. in International Relations from Yale and a Ph D. in U.S. History from
Stanford. I can't imagine Goldberg's scholastic achievements exceed this, nor his
research abilities. As I said, I won't be buying a book like "Bias" because I have read numerous book
reviews and critiques of Goldberg's book and the overwhelmingly number have said
Goldberg uses shoddy research and mischaracterizes many facts. (And to be fair, for the
same reason, I also would not pick up the book written by a federal prisoner on George
W. Bush that details rumors of drug use by Bush).
