Why would it surprise you that Comedy Central would do that? They are about making and raking cash, and youtube was doing nothing but reducing demand for their products and services.

I agree that it will be an inconvenience - I like to catch bits I miss and youtube was handy for that - but the content will surely be available on CC's site.
