I know that rock n' roll is supposed to be anti-establishment and even counter-culture, but do we really think your list is "good things" ? I'm not saying Performance isn't a good film - it is - but I'm wondering if what we thought was good back then is still good?

Kids today won't have music heros when they grow older. Vinyl is gone, soon all CD artwork will be gone (as will the CD) and in fact, music will be just files like a video file, a picture file, a game file, etc. It's just media and the connection to the artist is gone. What's so rebellious about a media file? Hence, why even try? Is it worth it anymore?

While we are at it? Are we now so conneced to our computers and blogging in CAPITAL LETTERS to make our point that we've been sidelined? We don't even march in the streets anymore - there's plenty going wrong in society but we blog instead of marching.

And Time Magazine rewards us with "Person of the Year" - all of us who use or create internet content - instead of doing what we used to do when we were angry.

So, I ask, is a film like Performance even relevant today and if so, why, when "all the good things" are no longer "good" enough to move us?
