I find the chopping of the middle finger by news outlets sorta funny - adults know what it is - do kids? It looks like a cross with the little square guy...the thumb & pinky are at humanly impossible angles...
Personally, if my son hasn't seen it already - I relish the opportunity to be the first to explain the expression (I don't know how this tied into a cartoon series marketing campaign - maybe they've gone too far) 'flip the bird' and it's appropriate applications - I'll spare you the whole spiel, but in my experience, it's an adolescent sign of frustration...the crudest and most direct sign language...
The news I've seen (over and over and over again) say the cops were responding to a 'previous threat' - well, wtf was it?!??! Where are the details? If anyone (whose name might rhyme with Veg) knows - please let me know so I can tell some friends at work and potentially win a free aquafina..
Without it - it looks like well(web)-documented faux news.
