The answer to that issue, I think is simple, or perhaps I am being naive. You cannot "teach" humaneness, simply by giving someone an education. It is an awareness fostered through love and understanding.
I think it was Einstein, who, upon unlocking some secrets of the universe, was ambivalent about revealing what he knew, for fear of the potential inhumane direction the knowledge he could impart, could take, if it got into hands of the rest of his "educated" society.
