Well there is a warming of the biosphere over the past few decades, but it may be a natural phenomenon, though the ozone layer depletion is clearly due to automobile exhaust. If you study the geological time scale, the temperature goes in a wave pattern with Greenhouse alternating with Ice Ages. The recent "warming trend" may in fact be a harbinger of a coming ice age, since this has been a pattern in the past. It is predicted to start occurring over the next 5-10 years with progressively colder winters about a decade from now. Won't be fully evolved for the next 10,000 years.
And yes, we (that is Homo Sapiens) won't be around forever either, since mass extinction phenomenon of various species also seems to be a recurrence (and a "natural" one at that). I love reading about Neanderthals, Cro-Magz (not the band), and Australopithecus. Shows how insignificant we truly are. Now....back to the ice age.
