If some of my toes fall off due to frostbite, does that mean I've lessened my "carbon footprint"?
I think I see your point (if I’m not imagining it), …it’s Fackin cold & maybe dangerous to the less prepared…so just let ‘em hide inside, tomorrow’s another day. & had they not closed the schools I wouldn’t have had the pleasure of shootin hoops with ‘em @ the Y all this afternoon becuz they’d be at school being subjected to a gradual molding into somebody else’s image of worthy youth. It’s funny, bummer funny, how most of the real fckd-up things that affect our nucleus family are school/peer related issues, but, all-in-all, I’m glad we opted not to home school after escaping SoCal. Public school does have its rewards, as long as the kids aren’t hung out to ride the winds of change on their own bemused merits alone…without tools & support…& a whole spectrum o music appreciation.
But still I think they could have survived the cold today, just as a traditional Tlinket Indian can withstand bathing in a cold fall stream stark raving naked every single morning for the purpose of balance and strength. My neighbor’d cry that her kids couldn’t handle it…& she’d likely be right…because she’s raising poo-ssies…
& it ain’t their fault.
