I don't understand why people need to argue this issue, set aside for a moment whether you believe their science or the other science, can anyone deny that the crap we are dumping on the ground, in the air, etc.is probably not a good thing ?
We can bitch and whine about second hand smoke but we think nothing of the fact that huge amounts of chemicals are affecting daily life ?
I remember a time when the larger cities didn't include an air condition report so you'd know how bad you were gonna choke on your way in to work.
Do we have to have an "end is near" scenario to admit that we can do better ?
Maybe we can do things a little different.
The people that insist that all is well are the people who don't want to expend any profit towards change to a cleaner alternative, whatever that may be.
My friend Dave, who had a very scientific mind, told me that the "warming" would melt the ice caps which would disrupt the gulf stream flow patterns resulting in a serious ice age, so why worry about whether it's global warming or global cooling ?
Forget about the future of the planet and admit that we can do better.
It might require that we live simpler, would that be so bad ?
Oh yea, I forgot, It would cut into the profit margins of those corporate entities that run our government.
Maybe if we lived simpler, it would cut down on some of the craziness going on in the world today.
