Yeah I plan on doing the same thing.  I'll be going to the show in Dallas this Sunday night.  His band is playing SXSW the night before that I believe, but that's not readily accessible to the public;  don't have ~$100 to blow on an armband or whatever for that this year.  Anyway will report back if anything exciting happens, and how the turnout was.
