Not to mention that, if you take the time, a small percentage (but certainly not all) of those quotes are out of context or gross distortions. The page Dale links to is propagated verbatim all over the landscape of right-wing blogs and "hate the dems" websites. It's the campaign of "repeat it enough times and it becomes fact" that was used to Swiftboat Kerry, discredit McCain, and convince the general public, along with Congress, that WMD's in Iraq were the biggest threat to the U.S. in 2002 and in to early 2003.
It's all part of the overall tactic of directing the conversation. "If the war is so terrible, why did all of these powerful Democrats support it?". I think a lot of people will answer that with their votes. I know mine isn't going to anyone who played politics with the vote on the war rather than going with what is best for the USA.
Let's focus on the central issue--there was deception, corruption and conspiracy amongst a core group of people, which then spider-webbed out to Washington at large. Let's go after the big fish. The small ones will then be easy to spot, as they'll be the ones swimming away the fastest.
