Well, I posted this to go with your Death By a Thousand Cuts post because I was not sure who knew what about some of what you were talking about.
When I was getting my head around it I started with the MZM story, where that led, then Carol Lam is fired for "performance issues" that were not detailed or described in any way, this leads back to Rove, Miers, and that complete jerkoff Kyle Sampson(Gonzales' Chief of Staff)at the Justice Department who was consulting with the White House (without telling anyone back at Justice what he was doing) about how to go about firing prosecutors using a clause Bushco crammed into the Patriot Act. Which goes to the key point about the Patriot Act, that it's not domestic spying that is most troubling it's the fact that the Patriot Act allows such clear and complete manipulation of the justice system that the boys at Bushco can tinker with and or shut down any legal event that gets near them. The Patriot Act was meant to be their "Get Out Of Jail Free" card. Anyway, to keep track of all of it you need a scorecard that lists all the names and titles. It's actually pretty amazing how large this is and it's easy to just talk about small parts of it...like Goss and Foggo at CIA, or Lam getting canned as she got too close, or MZM and the lies in the SOTU...you can break it down into smaller components to make it workable but it's all part of the same puzzle and it's pretty damn interesting that all roads lead back to Rove and the White House and Bush standing up there in 2003 and delivering those lines at the SOTU...
