The theory that makes the most sense, at least as I'm getting it on the Asian side of the pond, is that the shooter confronted his girlfriend about her new boyfriend, the confrontation went bad, and he killed the girl and her resident adviser.

He then went to the classroom building in hopes of finding the new boyfriend and opened fire indiscriminately, his idea being that by killing them all he would ultimately kill the boyfriend. Reality sets in, he concludes that there's no way out, and puts the gun to his head. Meanwhile, 32 innocent people lay dead and dozens other bleeding.

But remember, guns don't kill people. Emotional nutjobs with guns kill people.

Side note--if this goof was still in China, the best he could have done was spit on a bunch of folks, maybe bitch slap a few before someone kicked him in the huevos....gun control is a good thing, people.
