When it began raining lightly during his performance, singer-songwriter Donovan suggested to the
17,000-plus-member audience that together they could stop the precipitation by simply thinking it
away. The audience, apparently, complied, because shortly thereafter, the rain stopped. This moment
was captured for posterity when Donovan related the story a week later at another performance, which
was recorded for his “In Concert” album. During the Bowl’s history, only a handful of concerts have
been postponed by rain.
