Read up on Resolution 1441. We spelled it all out there. I do believe all the members of the UN security council signed it. Enough already. When do you act? In the international community the answer is NEVER. What is the point in drawing up any resolution if you are not going to enforce it |
it said, 'serious consequences'. they weren't spelled out, so Shrub's orchard took advantage of the vague language. military intervention certainly is a serious consequence, but they could have worked to seal off ALL of his economic loopholes first...of course, that would require the cooperation of the international community, and we're not into that, so bombs away.
i've seen worse points made than those here, but i'm having trouble rectifying that statement with the reality that there are many many people on the right/in this admin that are completely against the UN as a concept, and in fact are rooting for/attempting to create its demise.
