no you're not.

it has been a bit quiet around here. is this just a fan site or is it a place where some regulars come to gather and exchange ideas? i think the latter but for sure there are those who would disagree. we may have all come here to offer our thanks for the music but before too long we were coming for another reason...the banter.

after the rant which threw a wet towel on the board last week i didn't feel much like contributing...not that i've contributed all that much the past couple years. but then i got to thinking...if i were at a family function and someone threw a tirade which upset the harmony would i move beyond the moment or would i allow that person to set the tone for the others who were trying to enjoy themselves? i'd do what any reasonable person would do...i'd ignore him and not indulge him.

here i am.

so...how 'bout that youtube video peter posted of Carl Rove from 1972? pretty funny stuff. it's amazing what's on youtube. the first time i heard about youtube was when Dan posted a video of his cat in the bathroom a couple years ago. i think the cat was playing with the toilet paper roll...i can't remember. i'd guess that video is still out there...Dan?

did anybody watch the Glen Beck program tonight? he had several scientists who offered opposing views to Al Gore's propaganda about global warming. it would be nice if the other side of the global warming issue would get some msm attention. it wasn't a program which refused to agree that there is global warming. the program began with the concession that there is global warming... +.7c in the last 100 years. Al wants to say that the debate is over when it wasn't all that long ago that major magazines were doing stories about the coming ice age...we were all going to freeze to death. the show mentioned the 35k lives lost in europe a couple summers ago due to the heat. it went on to talk about the lives saved during the winter months where fewer people are dieing due to extreme cold. i've never heard that mentioned in the msm. the most interesting part for me was when he showed the chart where Al demonstrated that the levels of co2 were directly proportional to temperature change...except that Al had it backwards. Glen had a scientist who explained how co2 levels don't drive temperature change. rather, temperature change drives co2 levels. somewhat important i would think. he closed with the line...and i'm paraphrasing here...some science is science fiction.

it's nice to know that someone is out there marching to the beat of a different drummer.

hey Dale...get yer ass back here!
