Don't blink or fall into this trap. You've done a huge service, are an immense inspiration, and are a great hero. But the second your ego gets involved, you'll have lost a huge amount. Fall back into the ranks with other Gold Star Families, if possible. Let another mother step forward with her story of loss... The slimers can't attack all of you if you provide a united front. It can't be just Cindy against George. It has to be more than that. I think ultimately she was unable to use her place in the pantheon to create a real movement. If she'd used her media spotlight to illuminate the other Gold Star Moms she would have created not only a larger, more complex terrain for the smear gunners to get lost in, but also a guard, a shelter she could step behind when the flak got too thick. She wasn't able to sacrifice her position to create a larger position, if you get my meaning. It's very easy to attack Cindy Sheehan. A couple of hundred Gold Star Mothers? Not so easy.
