I have mutilple versions of Sgt. P., but, I guess besides the vinyl editions, I prefer a box set version on cd I picked up in Japan in 1991.

Adrian Belew, who is hugely influenced by the Fab Four, has been including a nice chunk of "Within You, Without You" on solo guitar in the last couple of years of power trio touring. If your not familiar with Adrian's solo work, check out "Inner Revolution" which, to me, sounds like what The Beatles might have been delivering had they still been producing as a collective in the 70s. ( The difference being that Adrian was pretty much all four Beatles on that record.)

I guess this album will forever be considered The Beatle's "Masterpiece" and rightly so. Many bands tried to produce their own Sgt. Pepper after that, even The Four Seasons jumped on the bandwagon with "The Genuine Imitation Life Gazette". ( I have to say, at the time, I was impressed with that 4-S effort )

I guess I was at the right age that I was evolving WITH The Beatles, if not somewhat influenced to evolve BY The Beatles.

What a great piece of time to grow up in musically.
