Its obvious that you havent seen a single of Polanski's movies, since they have a lot more to say than the majority of movies coming out of the US...As to his rapecase I believe that a lot of people in Hollywood has done similar (the level of consent in celebritycases is always debattable...) to a lot less severe consquences.
