Certainly not "care and feeding" but yeah that was a page on what to do if you run into a bear in the woods. I have not had that happen to me yet. I did once have a crazy encounter with a herd of deer (must have been at least 20 to 30 of them) when I was walking my dog through a forest. There have been reported sightings of bear (one had to be corralled because it was wandering around on route 495 during morning rush hour) and even a mountain lion in this area...but I'm not sure this has been confirmed. I had a funny encounter with a big buck once when I was driving home. The thing was standing in the road and I slowed to a stop as I approached it. He did not move just stood there looking at the front of my truck. I rolled down my window and yelled at him "What the hell is wrong with you? Get out of the road you idiot!"
Hey, you know I've got a sense of humor. Pretty much unfazed the big bastard wanders around to the drivers window and were it not for the Redwood trees growing out of his skull seemed like he wanted to stick his whole head into the cab. Not really the shy type. I think he had sized up the truck and decided he could take this thing. We eyeballed eachother for a bit and then I told him he smelled bad...real bad...and drove off. I think I taught him a lesson.
