Van Hagar is a better live band than Van Halen. Roth was shitfaced and forgot the lyrics both times I saw the original band. With Sammy you got consistency and vigor - plus an outstanding solo library to pull from.

I've seen both versions live and disagree. I saw Roth twice on the opening tour. Excellent both times. With Sammy you get "I can't drive 55". Can I hear that one more time?
