The new issue of the New Yorker Magazine has an excellent article by George Packer called "Planning For Defeat." Packer is also the author of The Assassin's Gate.http://www.newyorker.com/reporting/2007/09/17/070917fa_fact_packer
Reading this article again proves the ignorance of those prosecuting the Iraq War and how they are again failing to plan for the future while fantasizing that just one more Friedman Unit is needed for an Iraqi turnaround (for those who have missed out on the definition of a Friedman Unit, a FU deals with how the next six months in Iraq are the most crucial; so coined by Middle East expert Thomas Friedman, who was fond of saying, "the next six months are crucial in Iraq." To date, he has been doing this since March of 2003).
