That would go a hell of a long way. I thought Dan's prepaid medical was interesting but it is only for a General MD. What would kill me without the insurance is the prescriptions. Currently I am on 3 heart Meds (4 with asiprin) and 3 other meds for a bladder condition I thought for a year was prostate cancer (I was getting about 3 hours of sleep on good nights for about 8 months) with that one. One of those meds (Elmiron) is $400 a month without insurance. And then there is the wife and kid.... The scariest thing is if you lose a job you lose coverage or go on Cobra. What has helped me is a medical savings account to the tune of $4000 a year of untaxed income. I think I would like to see insurance reform and ideas other than Hillary's let's demand healthcare for all and pay for it by reversing Bush's tax bill and tax the rich further. Is that creative? Such an easy sell but when will it dawn on the Democrats that tax cuts spawn Economic growth. I would love to see more ideas in either the area of tax breaks for heathcare or solutions like the one Dan presented than the government getting involved in running healthcare. I think we are in agreement that they fuck up just about anything they get there hands into.
