I just finished reading through this deal set up by Pat Dinizio of the Smithereens. 100 people can sign on to become a patron or club member for $1200. That will get you a few limited edition (limited to 100) CD releases of songs (see the website for what you get) - plus 50 each extra non-limited editions to give out to family and freinds (or sell on ebay) - a couple t-shirts - tickets to a Smithereens show - and get this - a personal concert at your house (with a DVD and CD copy of the show afterwards for everyone who attends).
Really, I can't describe it well enough...you'll have to read the site.
Would something like this really work? Will $120,000 a year allow this guy to do this? Will 100 people actually cough up the dough?
