I happened upon this site accidentally (not my favorite sort of information medium) & don’t have an opinion for or against it at this time, but I though a few here may view it as “current events” worthy:

Some of this is grain-of-salt debatable; biased for the site, certainly. I, personally, would not disrupt a private party for 9-11 mourners ~ if that actually was the case, & the kid in St. George, Missouri [first or second video] WAS belligerent from the start ~ but what of the “law officer’s” immediate aggression and manipulation of the law to suit HIS own ends? What does that scream about the officer’s contempt for the law he swore to uphold? As with anything sensationalized, not every video is a good example, however some reveal shocking misuses of power. Where is the common sense?
What’s VERY alarming to me is…it appears to be university police who are taking the most ambiguous liberties (bullying looks to be their calling card.) So, institutions of higher enlightenment and understanding of the nation and the world, conceivably, have the higher incidences of thought and action suppression taking place in 21st Century America?? Hmm…I don’t know, …Stalin comes to mind…with a loud sucking sound. If a nation is on the side of righteousness and justice, and has nothing to hide with regards to it’s ethical ways & means because it’s leaders are true Elder Statesmen worthy of their high calling, then higher learning, discussion, debate, & nonviolent demonstration should be a welcomed means of national growth & prosperity, no? & it would seem that the exact antithesis to this would be the tazering of inquisitive students at universities? So how does that define our present leadership? Why the suppression, if our leadership is true? & what does that suggest we, the citizenry, are the students of? What are the principal goals of our present legislative body, really? & how is this carried down to the people? What is the mindset of an officer of the law nowadays? Is it not imperative that they be sound in their motivations & actions virtually 100% of the time if they are to be given such grave advantages over average Joe citizen? Yes, it’s not a job for just anybody, granted, but what sort of person should be carrying a gun and weapons of restraint &/or indulgence? What is really the principal directive of our police anymore? Historically? Muscle for the town council or safeguard to the laws & citizenry? In my life, I’ve been in awe of excellent officers, both military & civilian, as well as suitably appalled by the misuse of authority. So I suppose one must recognize that both means will exist, given the law of averages. However, one hopes that the scales tip in favor of the “good, earnest, diligent, right-minded, officers,” or we are well on our way to yet another crisis worthy of some critical revamping.
What a fuckin travesty it is that we really do appear to be heading (bought & paid-for) down the path of worldwide iniquity for sake of the worst notions in human understanding. Life in the shadows of $800 toilet seats.
& it so could be another way.
…suppose i’m preaching to the choir ... or to myself [mutter-mumble-sip-swallow, repeat...]
