Once again, Ed's got it nailed. If you've never experienced "The Wild, The Innocent, & The E Street Shuffle" then you are in for heck of a surprise. The flow from Incident on 57th Street (sublime), to Rosalita (more friggin sublime) is magnificent. Bruce and company were operatic, jazzy, loose, funny, well, you get the picture. I challenge you to lie in bed during "Incident" and "watch" the story/song, and then take off with "Rosalita". I don't know if Bruce ever topped that song. The departure of David Sancious on piano had to alter the band's sound greatly.
You should have a lyric sheet handy as the words will elude you at times. Oh, and the one clinker, at least to my ears, is "Wild Billy's Circus Story". Just couldn't get into it.
And I didn't even mention Kitty's Back, or Sandy, or...
