And ... one morning the ripple that is well underway, will turn this nation inside out when the present false prosperity is finally seen for what it is. We're bleeding assets while spending the future and when the predictable outcome of such policy dawns on this nation, as a whole, it will be too late to fix. And frankly, I expect it is now.

If not, you should have heard his schtick about how he(the Fed) determined financial policy but had no idea the subprime card would be employed by lenders or that it would lead to the present crisis(for many hopeful but financial illiterates). Just so much manure of course but after all, he had a book to plug.

Ntl, and sadly, I agree the comparison isn't readily apparent, it's just I don't think it'll take much to get there after the demise of habeas corpus and the plethoria of new security measures are employed to their logical ends.
