That's a disturbing encounter indeed.

When I was in my early teens, still young enough to pitch a tent in the back yard and call it camping, i did just that with a long time neighborhood pal.

Sometime in the wee hours I needed to wee. I got up and proceeded to the side yard and stared at the heavens as I relieved myself. My eyes trained on an object moving steadily across the sky, looked like a satallite, steady and straight, nothing to get excited about.

Suddenly, it zoomed towards my position until it was the size of the moon in early evening when it is low on the horizon. It was orange in color, round, silent. It stopped at that position while my emotions were all over the place. Was I in danger ? I was frozen in facination but I wondered if I should run and wake my pal to get a witness. Before I could act on that descision, it zoomed straight back to it's orginal trajectory and continued on the same path across the horizon that it was following when I had noticed it. There was never any sound, no blinking lights, nothing but a round, orange disc. It's speed could only be described exactly the way Dennis described it.

PS, after seeing Dennis on Colbert tonight, I think he has my vote.
