Last week the annual Oxford American music issue and compilation cd arrived. I'm giving it a listen right now. Compilation CDs (Paste, CMJ New Music Monthly, Pop Culture Press, et cetera) have turned out to be one of the best ways I've found to find "new" music nowadays. YouTube and Myspace have grown into another new music source.Anway, here's an old clip (Sandy Posey, I Take It Back) to one of the OA songs that has really grabbed me. At first it sounds like just a pop jingle, but after additional listening I've found it has more layers.http://youtube.com/watch?v=-q4uOC1vXJQSadly, the sound quality on the YouTube video isn't as good as the cd recording.
