It's terrible. Every lake around looks like a mud flat--although most of the lakes are man-made, which I'm sure makes a bit of a difference. There are watering bans everywhere, and there is huge controversy about what the definition of well water is and who can use it for watering and how much. Counties are suing each other over who owns the rights to waterways and who can sell water to who. And of course there are the obligatory neighbor vs neighbor bitchfests about who is cheating and whatnot.Produce crops are way down, livestock yields are off, and the low water levels means that the parts per million of things like livestock waste are higher, so public health in areas downstream is becoming a big deal too.The other big deal is that the state of GA sells water to Florida so that a certain species of fresh-water mussel isn't threatened, and that's caused a lot of controversy.
But all in all, it's better than being in China.
