Icon The Iowa thing...

You know guys, I've been over this many times and I'd like to point out a few things. While I understand people being upset about Iowa playing such a large role because they vote first something I think you should consider is that money matters less there. Now maybe some of you think that's a bad thing but in Iowa they will vote for the person, not the cash flow behind them. That's why even though I would never vote for Mike Huckabee I do like the fact that he could win as the Republican in Iowa...because his win really does reflect the vote of the people...and that's democracy in action, right? The Republicans chose Romney long ago and Rudy too, McCain has been around a long time, and Thompson is a total invention just to try to sway people who would not vote for any of the others. Iowa does not have to determine the outcome but the media hype when it's over...well...yeah, that will.

It'll come into play more for the Democrats because Obama, I think, has the best chance to pull the Iowa-New Hampshire sweep. I'm with Eric on this and while I have nothing against the guy, Obama just won't pull votes from Republicans and he'll get destroyed in the South and the middle of this country.

So, Obama is fine and maybe it would be great if Edwards picked him to be VP but as a presidential candidate he just won't win...period...I don't care what Oprah says or does.

Anyway, if anybody but Edwards wins Iowa that sound you'll hear will be my heart breaking because we're in a lot of trouble. New Hampshire is leaning hard toward Obama in the primary (and what seems to be hard McCain for the Republicans) and if that happens...it'll be an ugly general election.
