I was also able to get out on Friday for a show. Anyone on the board ever heard Bill Morrissey before? He's been referred to as New England's version of John Prine. There are few pure folk singers that really grab me but he's one of them. He sings of small mill towns in New England and the men and women who still manage to scratch out a living in them. After the show I gave him a compilation CD that contained my favorite Baerwald cuts from HCTNFU (along with some Paul Kelly and Joe Strummer tunes). Figured David wouldn't mind as I gave him a similar compilation with Morrissey songs when David played Boston, err, Newton, Mass. to be exact.
