I know...I've heard that complaint a lot but I don't think California and New York voting before Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina and Florida would have changed much. California looks like it's a Hillary state...and big too. She would have crushed Edwards and Obama there I think. Same in New York. So, we'd still get Hillary on the Democrat ticket. It may have changed the Republican race a bit. Huckabee would have never been a factor and Rudy would be a front runner...somehow I don't see how that makes us any better off. I think the rush to move up all these primaries is a problem because I think letting the process unfold slowly allows people to learn more about the candidates and think about things more. All this speeding things up and moving everything forward is a mess because it leaves the candidates with the most money with a huge advantage. They can advertise more in more states and be far more visable...Edwards should not have left the race, this I agree with because you can't say it's time to quit under the current set-up until Super Tuesday is over. He was forced out and being a good party guy and seeing the writing on the wall...and probably also hoping at least Obama could knock off Clinton he handed them his hat. Yeah, I hate it too but this is where we stand.
